Creator and owner of GBL Phlebotomy
Hello! I'm Ronnie! I am a mom, a wife, a crafter, and a certified phlebotomist that has been working in commercial laboratory collections for over 14 years. I've invested a lot of time into my career, with the goal of retiring from the last company I worked for. Well, as it turns out, I was very unhappy climbing the corporate ladder. I wanted a work environment that was centered on patient care. I wanted to be able to support my team in ways that was meaningful and build a trust between us that would keep our staff working, even if the pay wasn't great. These are ideas that are put forth in theory in the corporate world but lack in action. So, I decided I would create a company where I could build a foundation on these principals. I put in my two weeks' notice and started preparing to take this incredible journey.
I decided to name this endeavor GBL Phlebotomy, after the song GBL GBD by Smith and Meyers. (Get Busy Living or Get Busy Dying) The meaning of the song was perfect for what I wanted. However, as soon as I started to Get Busy Living, my life had to be put on hold due to both of my parents being put on hospice and passing within a few weeks of each other. Honestly, I struggled to pick up where I left off after 6 weeks of traveling back and forth from Denver to Phoenix, and loosing both parents at once, but if there was anything to learn from this tragic summer it would be to get busy living or get busy dying. No matter how hard life is, there is no reason to give on your dreams. So, I am taking my inspiration from my heroes in Shinedown and going forth without a plan B. And here we are! Hoping this time next year there will be multiple faces to add to our story and much more story to add as well.
And in spirit of honoring the loss of my parents, I decided to add the "rent a friend" option to my catalog. I met a lot of elderly patients on hosipice over the summer who were so very excited that I would stop and talk with them. The few minutes I would spend befriending these strangers made a huge difference in their attitude and it meant so much to my parents and I that we could spread that little bit of kindness. I want to keep that going!
The biggest gap between patients and their laboratory results is having the time or ability to make it to a lab appointment. We are dedicated to bridging that gap, creating a venipuncture experience that is easy, pleasant, and doesn't interrupt your day.

So if you're busy with work, kids, life in general, if you are bed bound and going the lab is more of a hassle than it needs to be, I can come to you. With over 14 years of experience I can draw blood from just about any person of any age from any walk of life. You do need to have a valid lab order from a physician, or a specialty lab kit complete with a requisition. The draw fee charged at booking is what you pay for me to come to you, collect your samples, process your samples and send your samples to the performing laboratory. Although insurance may cover your actual lab testing, I am unable to bill insurance for my services at this time.
If you do not have an order and would like to order your own labs, please visit our friends at Well Focused Parameds to order and pay for your own lab tests online.

If you know someone who is bed bound or on hospice care, I will gladly help fight depression and loneliness by spending time with them. In navigating hospice with my parents, I have found numerous elderly patients that were very grateful to have company from a stranger, even if for just a few minutes. Every patient will be greeted with a friendly smile, and I will treat every soul as if they were my own family. Wheather its playing board games, looking at old family photos, or just holding hands in silence, I promise to give your loved ones the kindness you would expect from a friend. This is a kindness I enjoy sharing in honor of my loved ones who have passed on, and I hope to keep this on the catalog for years to come.
